Family Portrait Experiences

Family PlayingFamily PlayingFamily photographs captured at a farm outside of Quincy, Illinois. Images captured a late summer evening while family poses by a bean field with the setting sun in the background. Captured by family portrait photographer Laura of Cherrybrook Photography out of Springfield, Illinois. Family Portrait Sessions are ... an experience like none other! No two are alike. While many photographers will have you meet in an open park somewhere and say things like "smile" to your children, I prefer to do them in the client's home or a familiar park where the child can relax. Giving the young ones "home field advantage" lets them come out of their shells and truly be themselves, letting that side of them be captured in the portraits.

What to Expect

If we need to start a little early or wait till a melt-down passes, that's fine. I book only one an evening and your loved ones are my full focus. We hang out till they feel comfortable, then shoot till I see enough material come through the lens. Standard Sessions last around 60 minutes. Standard Sessions are $368 and include eight retouched digital image files. Additional prints and products pricing available here. For larger Multi-Generational Sessions, packages include more shoot time and a larger amount of retouched digital images. Click here to inquire.

On location: The best way to get natural photographs of the child is to let them relax. Scheduling the session at a time that works best for them, we arrive and explore. Allowing any young children to explore as they like, we mold the session around them and their actions. Capturing them in their essence and curiosity, surrounded by family and love.
